I agree. It was a poorly written speech, but I think they were portraying a shift from lawful good to chaotic neutral rather than from good to evil. Hook may not be as noble as Robin Hood, who steals from the rich to give to the poor, but I don't think Hook intends to steal indiscriminately, from those who can't

hmm okay. I still think A!Stefan's reaction seemed a bit ridiculous because of the setup, but this thread makes a good case for it. Unfortunately, it has also succeeded in making me even more annoyed with Elena's behavior than I was. Not that Stefan is justified in expecting anything (I think we are all in agreement

I can hate the backgrounds and love the characters at the same time. I would have quit watching if there weren't parts about the show that I liked.

Someone seems to really hate any post that dared to criticize the cgi!

Oh this show is definitely doing better character-wise. Sophie Lowe is perfect in the role and I really enjoy the Knave too. That's why I continue to watch despite my dislike of the CGI scenery.

I hate the CGI so much. The Alice books are my favourite so I really want to like this show but the setting is cheap, offensive to the eye, and just wrong for the story. I feel like they shouldn't have done this show unless they could afford to do it right.

A!Stefan reacted so calmly to everything else!

Yes, fanfiction, exactly. After the opening (which I thought was great fun). I groaned and eyerolled through much of the episode. I found all of the Elena/Stefan stuff amateurish and cloying. I'm glad they didn't get back together like that because that would have just been too much. At least Stefan's scenes with

Eh I'll still give it a shot, if only for the eye candy (male *and* female). I just wish they hadn't made Katie McGrath be blonde for her role.

just finished the first chapter and I am officially hooked.

I continue to love this show's sense of place, particularly when it uses diegetic music for atmosphere.

To my dismay I actually found myself bored from time to time. I blame the Ravenswood-setup scenes. They were an unwanted distraction. Every time the episode went to Caleb on the bus it broke the suspense of the main plot.

"it annoys me when they take a strong female character and rob her of her agency to make her just a tool of some smarter guy."

"I wish the show hadn't made it out so that we could completely like him again"

I know! I desperately want to like Laurel but it just doesn't look like it is going to happen. It's even worse this season. Before I didn't care for the actress; now I actively dislike the character as she is written. She's not even close to the Dinah Laurel Lance I know and love.

May and Coulson are the only characters of the main cast that I particularly care about at this point.

I was okay with the diary in this case, because I love Elijah's voice. Of course, I'd much rather have Elijah unboxed and in the action.

Agreed, but I hope it isn't the last we've heard of them.

those things are awful. even with scissors it is a pain.

My favourite!
