Maybe it's because I went to college out of state (and the majority of my college friends didn't move back to their hometowns after college), but most of the weddings I've been to have been weekend affairs. Not ridiculous destination weddings or anything, but the bride's hometown often isn't anybody in the wedding

I wonder if it has something to do with the fact that Cas is also more empathetic and curious than other angels. Like, because they aren't thinking about what they have to do to seem human, they can do it easily, but Cas is thinking "oh it's so odd that the humans need to eat all the time!" and that makes him comment

She's not on the train because she's grown up and moved on. The horror! And the implication is that when she DOES die, she won't get into Narnia-heaven.

No, but he wrote a book about characters playing the game and getting transported into Xanth (that was the first one I ever read…given to me by my creepy borderline-pedo uncle so go figure)

I also read the Apprentice Adept and Incarnations of Immortality series. (In my defense, I read A LOT of stuff, some of it actually worth reading). Both were better than Xanth but had the same troubling misogynistic overtones. I mean, creating a society where everyone's naked. REALLY? Unicorn sex? I feel like Anthony

Man, I used to DEVOUR these books. But, like Heller says, stopped sometime in late middle school. Honestly, I'm kind of surprised my parents let me read these. They were shockingly filthy, and, as Heller says, pretty misogynistic. I guess my parents were right, though, because all of that went WAY over my head (I

I thought the MO of the AVClub was to read & interact with the commentariat. I'm kind of surprised it's taken SIIIIIMS this long to get around to it.

I have nothing to add to this conversation, I just wanted to point out that I, too, have a Pickwick avatar (though my username is unrelated).

I'm just assuming that this is something that will be rectified later in the season, so I'm okay with it.

Don't forget Terrible-Communist-Waiter Paris!

@avclub-284452bdab5c8151f9f079dc367ceb6b:disqus , I guess because I never watched these when they were live, only hours and hours of binge-watching, I got my timeline compressed.  I thought it was a lot closer to the wedding. Okay. I still think he's trying to convince her not to say yes, but that's miles from trying

That's my all-time favorite Stephen King short story.  It's one that I think about when there's a quiet moment.  There's so much buildup, but you just can't figure out how it's going to go wrong… and then it does in the worst way possible.  It's a story that really sticks with you.

Yeah, that was super early in the season.  Maybe Application Anxiety.  I do LOVE that scene though.  Along with its Paris-related counterpart in this episode, when you get to hear part of Paris' Harvard interview.  Perfection.

In Sims' defense, I actually liked this Jess/Rory plot, and I liked his insights on it. I guess I've just been that girl waiting for the phone to ring and hating it, so everything resonated for me.  But I do wish we'd gotten more on the Emily/Trix plot besides "Emily is being a child." BECAUSE THAT IS A MARVELOUS

I actually agree with both of you.  Everything Luke said was TOTALLY appropriate and common sense, and pretty sound advice.  But he was giving it to Lorelai just a few days before the wedding, and he had to know, at least on some level, that she would freak out about this.  He was pleased with the outcome, even if it

I'm assuming a hint about future episodes, but with SIIIIIIIIIIIMS, you never know. (But his reviews are getting better! I liked this one!)

It's the Bloody Mary episode of Supernatural for me, all the way. The way the girl just shows up out of the corner of your eye in anything reflective…JESUS.

I like Nicole well enough, although that's at least partially, or maybe mostly, because that relationship leads directly to Luke's amazing freakout on the (SPOILERS) divorce lawyers in season 4.  Fantastic.

That ep is definitely one of my favorites.  I like a lot of Yale storylines because they show how non-perfect Rory is.  It gets to be a bit much, but it's nice after Chilton/Stars Hollow.  (I also don't hate S7, so take it with a grain of salt).  Also the season finale of 4 may be my all time favorite.

So I already sort of tore Lorelei/the writers apart on this issue a few weeks ago, so it's time for the about face!
