I think I remember someone saying the town's vervain supply was destroyed, but I can't imagine it would be that hard to grow more. It seems stupid not to try, especially with the threat of a family of vampires who could force you to do anything with compulsion.

Now look at the pretty crystal…

Easy there chess master, Stefan knows by now that he doesn't have to think that far ahead when choosing allies because the chance of everyone's plans failing miserably is always incredibly high.

Yeah, all The Originals are probably safe from certain death for now. I guess Klaus and Caroline aren't happening anytime soon. I am curious to know what the premise of the show will be. Will they just focus on the family's supernatural shenanigans or go the Angel route and try to redeem Klaus as person? But who am I

I'm liking professor Shane more and more. I'm starting to think he's not evil but just in over his head (He seemed like a real Mikaelson fanboy). He's set-up these elaborate plans to kill dozens of people in order to bring back his family but feels justified because everyone who died will just be resurrected once

I'd throw Klaus and Kol in there too and have everyone walk around in slow-motion a lot.

The gang needs to take a field trip to Tibet to solve their compulsion problem.

This was a solid return for the show, but they sure did pack a lot into the last 10 minutes of this episode. I wouldn't of minded if they cut down Stefan and Elena's relationship drama in the library and spent more time on all the other set-ups going on. Rebekah's line of questioning did come off as a contrived way

I thought the show missed an opportunity to show Klaus actually killing The Five in the flashback episode, but now I realize why they were saving it. We've seen Klaus make threats often or just witnessed the aftermath of one of his rampages, so the murder sequences tonight were a great reminder of what he is capable

@Lord Tubbington Nah, he'll just be the de facto mayor like his mother before him. Besides, everyone knows 18-year-olds make great mayors.

Does that mean Tyler's the mayor now?

All good hybrids know what happens when you get on Santa Klaus' naughty list.

April was really the only winner tonight. She finally found Rebekah (It's a Christmas miracle everyone!). It was a little weird that Caroline suggested putting Klaus in Rebekah's body, but I can't help but think that would be hilarious to watch.

A flow chart of tragedy would be great. Or maybe just a map of what's going on in general. There's so many different agendas in play at once, I sometimes get confused about who's in on someone else's plan and why they're doing the thing they're trying to do.
