La Bete Humaine - Slightly mixed feelings on this one. The worst aspect is that the ostensibly central love story has no spark. There's no chemistry between the leads and I get the impression that Gabin doesn't even like Simon. I know that I really don't. She's lovely but I find her shallow as an actress.
