It's worth watching. I've come across a lot of people who don't care about it by simply catching in syndication, and then love it once they commit to watching it all. This season, this episode included, is a tv highlight of my Mo— Tuesday.

His train anecdote is totally brilliant, I think it's from the XFM days though.

He's very conscious of his moaning in AIA, I think there're some wonderful moments of awe in there but Gervais edited it and he prefer's rude and angry Karl, so that's what we get.

I agree that it was better than the premiere, it might be that it had been off for so long but I don't think "Tara" manages long scenes, like the barbecue (which, in my mind, is basically the entire episode) very well.
