Manson FAIL
Not only is the Eurythmics version flat-out better, it's also just way creepier and more disturbing. It's one of the sadder attempts to be hardcore I've seen (outside of anything Insane Clown Posse has ever done).

RE: VU vs. the Doors, I think a better question is, why isn't there as much of a backlash against Morrissey or the Smiths? Not that I'm saying there should be, but it's weird considering the similarities:
