You know, I've never been a fan of the attempts to put anime hair on these hyper-realistic CGI models. It's really distracting and raises a ton of maintenance and grooming questions. This was a more minor issue among the many, many problems of Advent Children.

Good Will Hunting for me. The movie's not exactly a laugh riot to begin with, but now, between Williams and Elliott Smith, it will be a one-way ticket to Melancholy Town.

Some thoughts:
— Chloe looks like she's going to end up being this movie's Kim Bauer: The pretty blonde girl screenwriters use to kill time with pointless, dead-end hijinks. Thrill as Chloe wanders aimlessly! Looks at cars! Runs while ambiguous explosions occur in the background! Gets really sad when a yellow bus

I don't know how you guys are enjoying Clickhole (personally, I'm loving it), but their Big Bang Theory quiz fulfilled a need in my life I didn't know I had.

I was hoping someone would bring this up. The only thing I know about Kathie Lee's musical undertakings is that she wrote a song about how shitty an autistic kid's life was, and it made him cry on national TV. And when he mentioned how sad the song was, all the TV-ready assholes laughed right in his face. Nice going,

Also, will Bruce have a sexy but sensitive student nanny who spends 140 hours a week looking after him while the Waynes slink around the city suspiciously? I know Alfred sort of fills the caregiver role, but he can't start sleeping with every minor doofus character once the writers run out of plot for them (or can

Don't worry. If Will doesn't make it, you can bet the FBI will name a bench after him.

I love that The Island exists, if only because it has the distinction of being a big budget blockbuster guilty of ripping off a tiny movie featured on Mystery Science Theater 3000. A $100 million+ budget, an all-star cast, and the creative team still doesn't have the artistic integrity to not steal from an obscure

It's probably just me (maybe? Maybe not? Why am I even commenting if I need to preface myself like that? Anyway…) but I got a lot of Cowboy Bebop flashbacks watching this episode.

Well, I won't equivocate: I'm very excited to see 24 make a comeback. I guess shows like MST3K, Monty Python's Flying Circus and Cowboy Bebop kicked off my adult TV tastes, but 24 (and, to a lesser extent, Lost) introduced me to the world of serialized live action TV drama. Even at its biggest, dumbest and

I'm going to say "The Venture Bros.," if only to nail down once and for all what a Rusty Venture really is.

Yeah, it really is divisive for a reason. Not making any sense is one pretty big factor, and the cheap digital look is another. I've seen people try to interpret it, which seems like missing the point to me. It's one of those movies that descends fully into dream logic.

I know it's a divisive movie, but Inland Empire: holy shit. I've talked about it before on this here site, but that damn movie near paralyzed me with fear. I'm perfectly comfortable declaring it the most terrifying thing I've ever seen, and I'm a pretty big horror junkie.

That's a wonderful description of Chrono Cross. My understanding was always that the game held high standing in the world of PS1 RPGs, so I've been surprised lately to see how many people don't care for it.

His "A History of Britain" series is a personal favorite. What a tremendous combination of linguistic wit, visual deftness and skillful thematic selections out of 2,000 years of history. While it glosses over big points of study like the Wars of the Roses, it still hits the humanistic highs and lows of British history.

I know many Dark Souls fans are touchy about having item locations and such revealed to them, so SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS AAHHH OMIGAWD WHAT A WORLD WHAT A WORLD —

The scene where he contemplates betraying Jesus while receiving a blowjob features one of the best monologues of the decade.

They pop up in the Sodom and Gomorrah scene to protect Lot and his family. When the evil Sodomites attack, they draw dual-wielded swords and slice their way through a half-hearted action scene complete with faux-badass posing.

I certainly get where you're coming from. I guess I take it a little personally because I have a long and complicated history with Christianity. I'm not devout like I once was, but many of these stories still mean a lot to me.
And there's plenty of rich ground here for intelligent and thoughtful adaptation. Scorsese
