The S2 finale of P&R is a good example of showing the genuine friendship that exists between Ron & Leslie. How rarely is that displayed with Sheldon in TBBT? At best Sheldon seems to just tolerate the other characters.

Can't seem to reply to your later post so I'll put it here. Found footage always requires a degree of suspension of disbelief from the viewer but the problem here is not the found footage format itself but how the filmmakers chose to implement it. They should have at least made *some* effort to make the film look like

In order to get the audience to buy into the fantastic elements of the story the mundane parts need to work in the first place. The way the found footage is poorly implemented in this film means the story stumbles at the first hurdle.

His quip about Santa Carla being a murder capital is another of my favourites

I felt that in the early seasons Sheldon's obnoxious nature wasn't deliberate, he simply didn't understand social situations enough to realise how much of jerk he was being. So the other characters tolerated his behaviour because it wasn't mean-spirited.

Well, she has been executive producer on this film and other stinkers like The Ugly Truth so she sorta does have to take responsibility for the  crappy content of her movies.

I'd agree that what makes the racetrack fight in IM2 intimidating is that Whiplash just turns up and attacks stark but even Whiplash got the quiet scene of dialogue with Tony after the fight.

Passionless is a good way of describing the lightsaber fight in Phantom Menace. The choreography was impressive but it was like watching a videogame. What was missing was some dialogue between the characters. Obi wan is clinging to the edge of the pit, Maul has him at his mercy. This would have been a perfect point
