Speaking of X F_____ shows, how much longer do you think until they reboot/bring back The X-Files? I mean, that has to come up pretty regularly at meetings these days, right? With everything else under the sun getting rebooted?

Yeah, that was my first thought as well. Heartbreak is awesome fodder for albums.

-Jack the Ripper re-imagined as a mischievous bloke who spends a lot of time with Horace and plays the organ.
-The Titanic as an unsinkable ship that hits an iceberg and transforms into a commie-hunting submarine.
-Nightmare the Elm Street as a kindly old man who…

That's quite a bit like his character in Goethe's Faust, too. Mephisto is sometimes surprisingly tender with Dr. Faust. There's more than a little, ahem, sympathy for the devil apparent in Goethe's (and this version's) work.

This movie will spawn a whole cottage industry of hand-wringing.

Couldn't they just re-release the actual Akira in theaters? That'd cost so much less than making a new one and enough people would go to see it that they'd easily make a ton of money and actually engender good will with fans.
