Yes, SYTYCD has rekindled my desire for a 2nd season of Bunheads.  As soon as I stopped constantly comparing it to GG and enjoyed it for its own merits, it quickly became one of the few shows I was actually eager to watch each week.
That being said, I still use GG as a bit of a bait-and-switch for the show since they

If you have a thing for dance, or Gilmore Girls, or family-friendly, quirky small town stories (Northern Exposure might be a reasonable example) then, yes, give the horribly named Bunheads a try

This.  You can feel the producers' thought processes; the audience *must* be shown how awesome this sequence is, so lets cut away in the middle of the sequence so we can show various OMG reactions to teach them.
