It's not super-well explained. Originally he just had the X-Ray vision, but he could also focus the rays to heat things up. Now they're two separate things. The basic concept seems to be that his vision can either be fired in a wide arc, just frying anything in front of him (heat vision)  or focused in such a way that

I know it's not a huge difference, but for me, I'm more forgiving of VM because Bell and Thomas don't own the rights to the project, so they'd be putting up their own money for something that wouldn't be theirs - from that standpoint it makes more sense to go with crowdfunding.

This episode reminded me of the disaster response plan from '28 Weeks Later': "There's a problem that can be easily solved by locking your front door and staying inside! Quick, everyone gather in a big room so that all the targets are in one place!"

Yeah, the whole idea of there being an 'evacuation center' was complete nonsense. With no ID checks or metal detectors. Also the FBI didn't bother surrounding the place. And their plan for checking people out was to just wander through the crowd, rather than having everyone sit down with their hands on their heads,

I'm a good work guy, and I think that if you allow my ongoing participation in this plant's activity, it will wind up as a profitably wondrous option for all of us.

Am I remembering the first episode wrong, or was Gannicus and Sibyl's shelter designed to visually remind us of Spartacus and his wife sleeping under the boat after fleeing their home?

Okay, so Mike had the clearance to know where Joe's wife was, fine - but why did he ask? How is that useful information for him to have? Doesn't him knowing it put her in more danger than if he didn't know?

Is 'The Case of the Cantankerous Old Geezer' Kent Brockman doing a takedown piece on the man who called to complain about them using the word 'Geezer'? If so, that might be the subtlest joke the Simpsons ever did.

One history has him being killed while attempting an audacious attack on Crassus' camp during the final battle, struck down by the private guard. Given this show's sensibilities, we can figure on Spartacus dying in a 1-on-1 fight with Crassus in the final episode.

Oh Dexter Writers, always trying to paper over plot holes by having characters say things that make no sense.

No mention of the 'at least strippers' being named 'Sandra' and 'Dee', after the two dates of Michael's that the family drove away? Or the fact that Tobias' hair plugs have gotten to the point where he looks like a decomposing Tommy Wiseau from 'The Room', as was the intent?

I'm glad I'm not the only one who was confused. He gives her a passport and a wad of cash, then tells her to flee. I assumed he meant flee the city/state/country to avoid the potential wrath of the mob.

Like that time I killed a guy for looking at my kids funny! The kids I no longer talk about, or to.

I couldn't understand why he didn't just stab Estrada before running - after all, the cops are going to find the kill room and know that BHB is still around no matter what, and that he was looking to kill Estrada - so is there any real downside to just leaving him there with a knife in his chest? Doing that and then

Remember when Masuka used to be on the show, saying sleazy things while working with Dexter? And then Dexter would have a voiceover about how much he hated Masuka? Good times.
