Remember when Masuka used to be on the show, saying sleazy things while working with Dexter? And then Dexter would have a voiceover about how much he hated Masuka? Good times.

That's why Dexter choked him rather than drugging him - so that the show could plausibly say that he'd been out just a couple of minutes.

So Dexter's just done now, right? It's not like killing LaGuerta will even accomplish anything, since other cops have now seen his kill room, which exactly matches the plastic wrap that he planted in 'Doakes' garage - also it contained a running chainsaw, matching the way his mother was killed. There's no way anyone

It's interesting mostly because you can see how many things in the 'first' movie were designed to set up plot elements in the original version of the script. Also, Kevin Corrigan's attempts to come up with an explanation of what their revolutionary group is actually for are very funny pieces of writing and acting.

Cinephiles will recognize CITYTV as the channel that Videodrome was based on! Although it's become much more legitimate since the 80s.

I consider this to be the finest-ever Simpsons episode - a few years back I realized that I knew it so well that I can accurately time out 22 minutes by reciting it from memory.

I don't disagree with you about the Saw Franchise, and I liked Dead Silence - but James Wan did write Saw 3.

Best note from the commentary - at the script stage they wanted Doctor House as the Fox cameo, but they weren't able to get him. But they didn't bother changing the script for Malcolm in the Middle - which is why he's talking about mad cow disease.

I recently saw this movie, and of all the lame stereotypes and bad writing, the only thing I found actually offensive was its characterization of draft dodgers as being cowards who were too afraid to fight for their country.

I'm glad the casting was explained this week - I forgot to check the credits last week, and it bugged the heck out of me who was playing the nurse. Then Donal Logue shows up this week and it clicked - his sister from Terriers! Did not know that she was his actual sister, though. Thanks, AV Club!

Yay! The first mention of Analrapist, which will soon lead to one of my all-time favorite Tobias lines! Which is saying something, because the line occurs in an episode where he dubs himself a 'discipline daddy'.
