Fineoakstructure, I think the downfall of Powell was really Steve Rocco and World Industries, especially the dodo skull deck, but bonite didn't help any.

Samurai Champloo is a pretty great series, it's not particularly new though.  Cowboy Bebop is also great, but it's future/sci-fi style rather than olden times.
