It's messed up for me. I click on a reply I got, it takes me that comment on top of the comment thread, without showing my comment or any of the others. Drives me nuts.

Shhhh it's okay, I was late as well. I was online, too, I just didn't think to check AVC yet… What a fool I was, four hours ago.
I read some film reviews but then I fell in love with their coverage of my favourite shows (like Elementary, Parks and Rec, The Good Wife) after a fellow fan of Elementary linked me to it. I lurk-read the reviews and comments for those for like 5 months, then I finally registered with disqus, but not with the AVClub,…
I don't know if there's a thing that has all the intersections of my life philosophy and fields of interest. I identify with so many things, from fluffy chicklit books to homoerotic action flicks, from Indian melodrama to American pro-wrestling characters.
I'm annoyed at my best friend for not returning texts, otherwise fine.
I recently booked flights to India, which was my #1 before so…
I've recently booked flights to India with a good friend. I'm so excited. And slightly worried.
To me exercise is a very zen thing; it's all about feeling good, and it's all about what I want to feel like. I slowly noticed that I don't feel good the way I eat and don't move my ass enough. I'm tired, then I'm hyper, I have too much caries from soda-drinking etc. There was a weight issue, too, and that was the…
I read about the salt thing online and tried it once or twice but I didn't really notice the difference, and when I did, I wondered if it was a placebo effect sort of thang. So I stopped doing it. I wish I had a live-partner who could put it in the coffee or not put it in, so I could blind-taste test it and know for…
Happy birthday! I turn years in like 2 days and I'm moving and poor as well, but hanging out with my dad so not sure how drunk I can get.
I actually did run out. Me (25/f) and my best friend (24/f) were the first in line for both Expendables and Expendables 2 - and we probably liked those films more than half the males in the audience, going by audience reactions at both screenings. My female cousin of 18 went to see both flicks with her best friend as…
One of the biggest Hunger Games fans I know is a 37 year old man with 2 kids. I'm a fan who's 25. The other person I know who's a huge fan is a female of 29. So no, the books definitely have a broader appeal than just younger girls.
I got both for a trip I went on and the bloody conditioner bar war impossible. When I finally figured it out, it did leave my hair smelling lovely, but too much of a hassle. In the end I bought a small conditioner bottle at my travel destination and took the conditioner bar home, but have barely used it.
Going vegetarian is easier than most people think. I've been mostly vegetarian all summer, and it is great. Easy on the wallet, too.
Update, not that you probably care: I cooked with coconut oil and it did taste like coconut, which was weird to me - I prefer coconut oil to be used for skin & hair, not internally, it turns out. I personally disliked it, but turns out that this was a paleo-diet thing. Apparently those paleo-folk prefer coconut oil to…
@avclub-ffc2c137ac50f2b5c98536d558642273:disqus I really don't follow your logic. You've never seen improv you like so therefore improv is easy? Shouldn't it be the opposite? If all the improv you've seen has been astoundingly good, with seemingly little differences between people who have done it for 1 year versus…
This is a cutestorybro.
Wow, okay, somebody's never seen bad improv. Of course people who are good at improv will make it look stupendously easy. Yes, there is a template, and you just have to a "funny person", but it's still a creative process (you could also say that about anything - be it sitcom writing, sketch writing, stand-up - there's…
This is one of my pet peeves, definitely. What makes food authentic? Who the hell is anybody to judge that? Fusion cuisine happens in home kitchens every day, there is local variety in all sorts of recipes, and anyway, cooking is a creative process, influenced by different factors. One grandma in a small Mexican…
Yeah, definitely.
