It still baffles me that he went in that direction. I was loving Sunshine, then Jason X showed up and I couldn't take it seriously any more.

I always forget that it's him portraying Buzz, which speaks to his ability as a voice actor I guess.

I always loved it when he'd do "manly" versions of rooms in a house. Don't care what anyone else says, that shit was comedy gold, if incredibly misogynistic and puerile.

So…it's like The Squid and the Whale? There was a movie I completely forgot about as soon as I took out the DVD.

Don't forget Tony Wonder.

Holy shit I HATED that movie, if only because they family he was trying to win over are absolute fuckwits who are completely unwilling to give Stiller's character the benefit of the doubt at any point. I don't mind this whole uncomfortable comedy thing usually, but in Meet The Parents it really goes beyond the pale.

Couldn't disagree more. I think it's his best film because it has such well-constructed characters and arguably the most satisfying conclusion of any of his work. Much as I love his other films, particularly Rushmore, I feel like they tend to end at an arbitrary place rather than give a proper sense of closure,…

I will always defend that movie. Yeah, it falls apart a bit towards the end, but I find the bulk of it extremely funny and I've never understood why so many people write it off.

I never got why so many people made a big deal about There's Something About Mary. When I finally watched it (rented on VHS!), I liked it well enough, but I didn't find it anywhere near as funny as Dumb and Dumber or Kingpin. Senses of humour are strange like that.

But could he grow a decent beard? For some reason I always picture these nasty fuckers with beards.
