Thank god they handled the Laura plotline well.

No way, she was only there for max three days. Based on the wheel spinning that happens in the final three episodes of the season, her being captive for a long time would have been a better exploration of the depth of the trauma he inflicts than what we got.

I agree. Some of those fight scenes in DD are just mesmerizing. I'm so happy we're finally out of the woods of cinematic shaky cam action scenes.

I'm not claiming that he's a MRA, only explaining why people see certain characteristics in the character that would lead them to make the claim.

Well, Jessica isn't a trained fighter. She just ends up in fights. That doesn't mean they have to be filmed in a boring way, but by their very nature of being simple brawls they're going to play out in a standard way. I'm glad there are so few fights in the series as a result. They know that ultimately she's not out

The apartment is perfect. It totally matches her life, which is spartan and barely hanging on.

The security at the apartment was a surprise to Jessica. Trish also believes Jessica enough about Kilgrave in the sense that it messed Jessica up, but not so much in the actual mind control. At least not until she was a victim herself. So I can't see that as her justification for doing the home security detail or the

Jeri is wildly detached from everything in this series…until she's not.

So…why does Trish have a fortified apartment with a panic room? Was there really no catalyst moment in her past to justify that outside of her concern for overzealous fans (but no apparent concern for a drunk doorman letting crazies up to her door?).

MRA has become something of shorthand for a few things, but basically straight white males of privilege mixed with some real MRA. It's not the best shorthand clearly.

Argh, my mistake.

Many times the humor came off as deflection and assertion, yes.

Budget issues are clear in both series, but I'd say that Jessica Jones handles them better. Most of Daredevil took place on soundstages, and look like they do. With the exception to most of Fisk's top floor suite views, nearly all the other interior scenes look like barely put together rooms with questionable lighting

And there will be more characters that have peed themselves. It's explained somewhere toward the end of the season, but basically his commands are absolute. For example, if he told you to sit and watch tv until he came back, you wouldn't leave from that spot and would eventually soil yourself.

Ahaha, just a little over the top? The entire affair storyline comes off as a reason to keep Jeri too busy to really involve herself with Jessica. The way it really pays off in the end it just terrible. Season long plot-device.

It's not explored at all within the series, but it's a general trope within the comic world for the "gifted" to do everything to not stand out or to pass as/be normal. It's not as if he was shielded from how other people interact with one another.

Man what a sloppy episode. Let's talk about things that happen here (some end of season spoilers)

Simpson returns to apologize/repair his relationship damage too many times. It would be one thing if those attempts increasingly felt more unstable, or not genuine. (Ultimately he is increasingly unstable, but that isn't necessarily presented in his scenes with Trish). This is the part of the season where every feels

So…this episode balanced comedy in very strange ways. Scratch that, in terrible ways. Out of essentially the entire season, this episode shows what kind of full on manipulative head trip Kilgrave is. Oh, and does the all out rape reveal. Yet at the same time, Jessica has multiple scenes of questionable levity and

To your point about Laura seeing the light so quickly, it does come off as too soon since this episode immediately follows the blow up. Even though the show established that at least two weeks have passed (per Laura missing school), that still doesn't quite cut the feeling that this development isn't earned.
