Well Friday Night Lights season 1 is probably my favorite TV season of all time, so I'll certainly be reading/commenting there. I also hope AV Club can complete its Spartacus coverage by going back and reviewing all the episodes of Blood and Sand.

Parenthood has a richer history with "asshole" than just this season - it was used twice way back in season 2, once by Adam describing the grocery store guy who called Max a retard, and again by Jasmine when Crosby slept with Gabby. Between its "asshole"s and its pot-smoking, Parenthood is taking advantage of its…
I'm so ready for "shit" to make a comeback. I mean, if "shit" can be in E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial, the most beloved of for-all-ages family entertainments, surely an adult audience watching TV dramas after 10 PM can handle it?
I choose not to pick between Alien and Aliens and just say that both are phenomenal and, tied with Terminator/Terminator 2, form one of the two greatest sci-fi duologies ever.
I actually have no problem accepting Tangled and Frozen being in the same world. They look the same and have the same skewed-medieval vibe and bursting-into-song and magic and shit. Little Mermaid being connected to them too I reject though.
1. Hannibal
2. Community
3. Game of Thrones
4. Orphan Black
Hannibal is winning now!
I think having 4 years away from 24 could be a good thing for the writers to recharge their batteries though. Not to mention the drop from a 24-episode season to a 12-episode season is the best news ever. Bye filler, bye personal lives of CTU employees!
Whether or not I want a no-longer-airing TV show to continue (either in film or returned-to-TV form) has a lot to do with whether it properly ended or just got canceled. Firefly and Veronica Mars both got shitcanned without real finales, so I was happy to get movies for both, and really enjoyed both movies (in fact…
In all seriousness, while I love love love Hannibal, I do wonder if Fuller's 7-season plan might be TOO ambitious, just in terms of staying alive and vital that long. Surely if The Wire and Breaking Bad and Friday Night Lights told their stories to complete satisfaction in 5 seasons, Hannibal could too?
I predict a 99% chance Ron will express an affinity for meat and manliness in a guarded way (but at the end of the episode we find out he actually has a heart of gold). In about 10-12 episodes.
Parenthood does feel like its tank is running a bit empty. If they renew it I think it might be best if it's for an official announced-in-advance final season. (Same goes even more so for Parks.)
It's weird how the show/Rachel/Santana all seem to regard it as some big old pathetic disappointment that Santana is "just" the understudy for the lead role in a major broadway production, which is actually a pretty fucking massive accomplishment for a 19-year-old.
Well since it seems AV Club isn't going to be covering it weekly (which what the hell, the first episode got over 600 comments!), I'll just talk about the second episode of Cosmos: A Spacetime Odyssey here.
The Sunday ratings comments section on TVBytheNumbers was OVERFLOWING with searing, red-hot, unfathomable rage about Cosmos' very existence (largely stemming from Obama having introduced the first episode). Put on your flame-retardant armor and check it out: http://tvbythenumbers.zap2i…
I agree. My laugh count was dwindling to dangerous lows watching it. I've decided to drop the show for now and see if I can get back into it by binge-watching all of season 5 in one go when they add it to Netflix next year.
The ultimate culprit in True Detective was a completely preposterous cartoon character.
She has countless gifts as an actor… that, I'm afraid, is not one of them. Kiefer's voice is singular.
Though, as a counterpoint to the season 2 criticism I've just written, I'll note that when my girlfriend and I watched FNL start to finish last year (her first viewing, my millionth*), she identified the moment where Coach throws that other school's coach up against the wall and threatens to kick his old, tired ass if…
Is AV Club not covering Cosmos weekly? That would be pretty damn disappointing.
