To MGM lion roar NOT followed by the James Bond riff and white dots going across the screen remains disorienting to me.

I feel like Amanda's death has given a sense of renewed focus and purpose going into the last third of the season. With the last episode and this one, I'm feeling back on board in a way I haven't since the end of season 1. Hopefully they can make that last and stick some kind of landing.
Poor guy has an amazingly naturally creepy face.
Does anyone know what episode the heroic music that plays when Gannicus escapes the city was used in before? It's driving me nutty!
"Spoils of War" is Spartacus's meta episode, in the way it takes us on a backwards tour through the entire series, right back to the beginning.
I don't even own "ah" sword, let alone many swords that would necessitate an entire rack.
@avclub-fcfcac2db1b067e67846e75a38bbfb65:disqus I would love Spartacus: Blood and Sand for TV Club Classic for 2014. Spending 13 hours with Andy Whitfield and John Hannah? Hell yeah. And I think re-reviewing episode 1 is definitely essential, because we all need to discuss, with the whole series in mind, what the fuck…
I didn't think it was "very bad" by any means, but certain things didn't quite connect with me. Though, thinking it over, I do think I would rank it above "Alternative History and the German Invasion."
Among scripted shows, if I'm not mistaken, this puts it at, averaged out, eighth behind Revolution, The Office, Chicago Fire, Parenthood, Parks and Rec, SVU, and Grimm.
Jesus Christ. Holy shit. I'm genuinely stunned.
I think the most frequent thing I ask my brother about my toddler niece is whether or not she's old enough for me to show her The Princess Bride yet. The answer is still no, but soon… soon…
A huge enough portion of my favorite shows on TV weren't even let into this contest that it's hard to summon up much enthusiasm for it.
Even season 4 Community is effortlessly better than The Walking Dead, as are probably about 15-20 other shows worse than it.
I wouldn't be shocked if he never actually watched an episode of Parenthood season 4.
The pilot is by far the worst episode of the series, and the 2nd and 3rd episodes are probably respectively the 2nd and 3rd worst episodes of the series. Episode 4 is an improvement though, and it all builds to a first season finale that is, without hyperbole, probably one of my favorite episodes of TV aired so far…
I definitely would rank Cult above Zero Hour, because Zero Hour was just like "here's some generic Lost/Da Vinci Code-type shit," whereas Cult is, regardless of how bad it may be, doing its own complete batshit thing that's not really quite like anything else. Based on the pilot episodes, I mean, since that's all I…
I feel like I must be losing my mind (or at least either AV Club and I are watching different versions of this show broadcast from alternate dimensions), because this was probably my least-favorite of the season so far, while "Conventions of Space and Time" was my favorite. Insert "whatcha gonna do?" shrug here.
The Terminator and T2: Judgment Day made a pretty fucking perfect duology for twelve beautiful years. Two movies, equally great despite wildly disparate budgets, telling one continuous, concluding, completely satisfying story. Perfection. Then Terminator 3 had to come along and fuck it all up, then Salvation, and ugh.…
I've never seen its equal.
I know, right? I can't think of any reason, creatively for the show or in terms of Reinhold's career, why he shouldn't be a series regular.
