That reads to me as less "anti-Radiohead" and more "understands some basic acoustics."

Can't turn your back on a motherfuckin' cob man.

Couldn't agree more.  That album is hilarious.

"Whether the world wants or needs new Pixies music is another question entirely" is in itself kind of unwarranted: outside of a small rabid following, the answer would've been a solid "no" in 1989, and then where would we be? The point being, if there's any band that deserves some slack, it's this one.

So what do you think of the music coming out of San Francisco?

At the risk of being pilloried by such a sexy group of people here, I *hated* Matt Berry's character when he was first introduced.  The character seemed like he was teleported in from a more garish, clown-like universe, especially considering the understated nightmare-dad-figure he was replacing.  It took the entire

Do you find it ironic then that Snyder did Watchmen then?  You'd think he'd bring some of that insight to Man of Steel, even if the characters themselves are different.

The best way Man of Steel could have ended?  Superman puts on his Clark Kent disguise, picks his way through the blasted ruins of Metropolis, finds the partially collapsed, abandoned Daily Planet building, sits down at a debris-covered desk with a computer still sitting on it, and starts typing.

Indeed, that's one of the moments that sold me on this show.  If sold equals "yes, I will continue binge-watching this on netflix."  Which it does.

Just wanted to say: much respect to your username.  It helped me waste many a summer back in the day.

Rock is dead, so… no.

Agreed.  The Dandys in particular struck me as also-rans in the late 90s college rock game.  I certainly never thought of their music as something deserving a re-appraisal ten plus years on.  What's next, Black Grape's debut?

So did she?  Don't leave me hangin' bro!

I get a perverse joy in how the This American Life capsule was wedged in with all the other reviews.  "Here's a bunch of stuff about comedians and bad movies!  Also, we're looking at apocalyptic climate change in a decade or so, the collapse of civilization probably not long after, and our economic and political

Ugh.  Wish I could say I was surprised.  Anselmo always creeped me out, even at the height of Pantera's popularity.  Something about him just taps into the fight-or-flight response in the lizard part of my geek brain.  If nothing else, he seems like the kind of guy who's delivered a lot of swirlies in his life.

Everyone should fake their own death at least once in their life.  Heck, my dog did it when I was a kid, and now he's chillin' at some farm upstate.  Gets to run around all he wants.  Yup, that's the way to do it.

Very happy.  And maybe watch it sometime- it won't change your life, but it's fun and goofy with some really killer episodes.

He doesn't seem to ever be noticed, but I think Clark kills it in the few lines he gets every week.  I think the Burn line was from this:

In spite of the critical "meh" it got, I really enjoyed this movie.  Wilson's character has a lot of overlap with Dwight Shrute, but Wilson did a hell of a job making him a distinct character.   The ending is shockingly intense for such a goofy movie.  I thought Wilson's final words with Bacon would have fit in with

Were you at the Party In the Park show? I thought it was hilarious how many little kids were running around during that- hey, outdoor concert!  Fun times for the family!  At least the kids only need half of the birds and the bees speech now.
