It's a new book by a popular author whose previous series was very well received by critics. Why does everyone around here get so hung up on marketing labels? Plenty of adults read and enjoyed Taylor's previous books.

I'm so excited for this one - really glad to see that it's getting good reviews.

I really enjoyed Titan AE - I'd second that one.

Aside from the things everyone else mentioned (Heath Ledger and Joseph Gordon Levitt, funny/bizarre adult characters alongside fairly mature teens, a decent rehabilitation of one of my least favorite Shakespeare plays, and fun music), I'll always have a soft spot for that scene where they're describing all the cliques

I was sort of surprised Cool Runnings hadn't come up yet - it was one of the first ones I thought of.

It's not as bad as it should be, and has a couple funny bits, but it's certainly not good either.

Sneakers is a better movie, and is more a more realistic portrayal, but I think the aesthetic of Hackers is more quintessentially 90's. The fact that Hackers is so extremely dated makes it a better answer for this question, I think.

The thing about Hackers is, they didn't care about getting the tech right at all, but they really wanted to get hacker culture right. They have a ton of inside jokes and real stories provided by their "technical consultants" in there - everything from the reference books they're using and their handles to the flare

Why are there two Marvel shows with bad guys named Ward? I don't think I've ever met a Ward in real life - it seems to be one of these "interesting enough to remember, but not too weird" names that are so popular with TV writers.

Did you see that follow-up thing she did for the Sookie books where it's just a dictionary of all named characters from the series and what happened to them later? "Jane Bodehouse died on the toilet at the age of …" That was definitely adding insult to injury. Who was that for? Was anyone really sitting around

I liked a lot of the earlier Charlaine Harris books, but her Sookie books got bad enough that I didn't bother trying her new series out. This doesn't really make me think I was missing anything…

But ideally with a better conclusion - the last book's mystery was lame (especially the part where the same high school biology fact about blood types was used to crack the case as was used in the first book), and that soured the series a bit for me. But at least it didn't go totally off the rails the way the Sookie

That was what happened when my family was trying to figure out my sister's fatigue issues. My mom's Lupus meant they kept looking for something autoimmune related, rather than just going straight to a sleep specialist. Turns out, she's narcoleptic(-ish). (Plus, being really tired all the time is normal in my

As one data point, the fact that Obamacare requires insurance plans to pay for birth control is currently a major point of contention for conservatives because they feel like this impinges on employers' religious freedom.

Muppet Guys Talking premiered at SXSW last week, but when it becomes available definitely check it out. It's very bare bones, just 4 Muppet Show performers and one who joined things slightly post-Henson (he's Pepe the king prawn and the dad from Dinosaurs, among others) sitting around Frank Oz's living room and

I'm not as excited as he is, but still looking forward to it. Thankfully, most of those 20 views were on his phone - I've only watched it with him 3 or 4 times, I think.

My SXSW highlights:

I never took it to be a commentary on Korea in general - I always just assumed that the Kim family (in both the US and Korea) happened to be really strict and religious.

My husband has watched that pilot for The Tick at least 20 times - that show cannot arrive soon enough for him.
