Assange is a regular talking head for Russia Today, but more tellingly, a lot of the people and organizations who originally were involved in Wikileaks left when he was holding back documents that were critical of Russia.

I don't really get it - it's true, some people have to rely on physical mail rather than email, but the phrase "snail mail" just says that that method is slower, which it is. Sort of hard to argue with, isn't it?
I'm reminded of the Patton Oswalt routine about the CIA listening to tapes of him talking to himself in the car at their Christmas parties.
I mean, really, what did they think the CIA did? And, the ability to spy on people doesn't mean they spy on *everyone*. Just like the FBI has wiretapping capabilities, but they don't wiretap everyone, just people they're investigating.
Which was precisely the point of this leak - the timing is no mistake. The ties between Wikileaks and Russia are already pretty well known (in the security community, anyways, but I think in general now).
Really, I've looked at the security of Samsung Smart TV software - it does not take the CIA's resources to hack that thing.
It does seem to have done the intended job of distracting the news cycle from the White House - Russia links for a while, though.
It is funny to see the difference between first season vs end of the show Angel, since he's supposed to be an ageless immortal. :)
I'll be talking about my computer security research (automatedly assessing safety/build quality of commercial software for consumer comparison purposes).
This'll be my first SXSW (I'm on a tech panel) - any tips for navigating the event, or things to check out?
No one's claiming that there wasn't anyone at the inauguration - just far fewer than were at the one in 2009. Up near the front (what the videos show), there's lots of people, but as the pictures clearly show, further back there's lots of empty space that was full in the 2009 pictures. No one's claiming the place…
I know! The implication that anyone who's anti-Trump would need to make up things about him to make him look bad is ridiculous. He's giving us plenty of material to work with every day.
That's why coffee filters are a better idea - much cheaper than Britta filters.
So you're going to go with the idea that this is all a conspiracy between a Reuters photo editor, the National Parks Service, and various other confirming sources (eg, Metro rider stats from 1/20) to make Trump look bad, rather than the idea that the president with the worst incoming popularity numbers in recent times…
Or at least pass the stuff through a coffee filter a few times so you can make it more drinkable! (My husband told his support team that you could get drinkable alcohol that way, so they tried to do this in the office, but don't know if they ever got brave enough to drink it.)
That seems more like a Deadpool thing than a Logan thing, though, right?
I was also interested in the "Look at me! I'm an ally!" aspect. I sort of thought that was the major theme, especially based on the end part where Steven tears into Ronaldo - Ronaldo is saying he is interested in the Gems' fight and interested in helping out, but he doesn't listen to what they need/say, and is…
For the most part, they're hardly hiding the fact that this is really about not wanting trans people to feel comfortable going out in public at all. Bathrooms were just the easiest way to scare people into joining their insane crusade.
I guess for some people it's a lot harder to have frank discussions with your children about how the world really works than it is to try and legislate anything that makes you uncomfortable away. I'll never understand all the ways that conservative types want to make parenting their kids the government's job. It…
My toddler seems perfectly content to have a tv remote or a computer mouse to talk on in place of a phone, so sounds like a solid plan to me.
