I agree.
This is the only JCVD movie I saw in the theater, and I loved it. It really turned me on to John Woo — I remember reading an article about the fact that this was his first American movie, and how this particular critic found his style a little distracting (all that pesky slow motion…doesn't he know how

I watched it when it was brand spanky new, back in 1991.

I can't defend this anymore.
Everything you said is correct — from the blandness of Billy Zane (who I also adore) to the ridiculousness of…well, of pretty much everything else.
I can't explain why I'm still ok with Twin Peaks at this point, but I am. Maybe it's hindsight — I know that good things are coming, and

Talk about the tenacity of the cockroach — National Treasure 2 is still in theaters around here, and it opened here the same day it opened nationwide.

I'm a little ashamed to admit that I loved this cartoon. I just recently sought it out on You Tube, as a matter of fact. I hadn't seen it since I was a kid. For some reason, I remember it being much, much cooler…

Wow.
Jason, in all seriousness, this article moved me to tears. You just described my brother's childhood to a "T". I'm very close with my brother, and I have very fond memories of hanging out with him and his older friends, sitting around the D&D books and notes and maps…I must have read that Monster Manual cover

I always knew Hillary had a caucus.

Wait…
Did they really kill a chicken in that scene? I'm pretty sure I just watched a chicken get its head cut off, for real.

That's cause I'm talking out of my ass.

Damn Clowns.
I'm a little ashamed to admit that I would be terrified of this movie. If I wasn't too terrified to watch it, I might be able to prove that.

A little better
I don't think it's entirely fair for me to comment on whether this ending is better or worse, only because I probably would have felt exactly the same way about this ending if it had been the only one I'd ever seen. Faced with a comparison, though, I'm inclined to like this one better.
I don't think

More than meets the eye.
I totally agree that the James "It's Wrong!" Hurley parts are suckier than the suckingest thing that ever sucked, but…I liked Ben Goes Wild, and I love Windom Earle. I never thought of his performance as bad-goofy, but more like…well, he's crazy, right? Seems like he's exactly the type of

Thanks for giving me a good laugh this morning, Georgie Boy!

Nightmares and Crapscapes
Anyone remember Nightmares and Dreamscapes? I was genuinely looking forward to that, and I was most egregiously disappointed. "Battleground" was cool, but the rest of them were just terrible. Bad acting combined with bad CGI…just bad all around.
I, too, would like to be optimistic about

Wow.
Did I stumble onto The Hater?

Seriously? No Black-Eyed Peaness?

Oh, come on!!
No Boston shows, huh? That really stinks. I would give various and sundry body parts to see them live.

Huh.
I'm kind of surprised by how sad this makes me. I guess DC5 remind me a lot of my dad — this is the music he was into as a young guy. It makes me sad to think that his generation is passing.
They were a great band, too. I got most of my musical tastes from my Pop, and I heard a lot of the DC5 growing up.

Huh.
Suddenly I'm in love with Mariah Carey.

Mama don't like no tattletales.
