That's what gets me about "The Walking Dead" (the comic book, not the TV show that I haven't really seen very much of). It seems like, at some point, somebody would figure out how to manage the chaos beyond the typical militia-leading dictators (of which we are now seeing a storyline about for the second time).

That would be an awesome movie: A sinful dwarf and his mom kidnapping women for their absurd scheme, then Liam Neeson bursts in and busts some heads.

Well, I take consolation in the fact that particular shop has long since closed. I actually think it was open about two years, just some jerks trying to capitalize on the market that soon crashed.

That, and the fact that the format was set well before the Internet age. There was value in actors promoting movies and TV shows, and having musical guests, because it was a way to get exposed to what was happening in entertainment. I can think of a couple of bands I heard for the first time on Conan, for example,

"Good evening folks. So this is in the news. Have you heard about this? Have you heard about this? There are these new chickens. Man-made, about as big as your fist. They're new!"

At the time, I was just old enough to start buying comics on my own. Thanks to a healthy dose of Super Friends growing up and an older brother that was into comics, I naturally gravitated to Green Lantern and Flash comics, which (mostly) were avoiding that stuff. People in the shop, both employees and other kids, went

I vividly remember Prowl getting shot, his eyes go dark and smoke starts pouring out of his mouth. Then he's dead. Good stuff!

I thought the conflict was that a planet that turns into a robot Dracula was coming to eat them all. Although it probably would have been cooler if he was coming to eat Earth.

In the cartoon, you had your basic kid sidekick in the form of Spike, who always palled around with Bumblebee. And Spike's dad, Sparkplug, was usually hanging around somewhere. But I think it's telling that my adult memories of the show contain very little humans at all.

I don't think having Ultra Magnus cost less than Optimus, did he? I mean, the toy was the same size and everything. Also, Magnus swore in the movie, which 9-year-old Ghost Buggy thought was totally awesome, so there's that.
