It's obviously not a racist statement, but rather blaming the show to be racist. There is Malcolm, Solomon and Olivia's assistant. None of them is in charge of anything. It's not like TV/movies don't have a long history of casting African-American actors in sidekick or gangster roles. And Asians as geeks/nerds. I

And there goes any future hope for you to be taken seriously, ever again. Even by Community fans. Congratulations.

@avclub-956685427c5cd9dcb04f784272727336:disqus The attitude problem goes both ways, I think.

For some reason I got the impression that Troy is a closeted nerd pretending to be a jock and that the show never tried to play it otherwise…?
Setting up archetypes, then subvert the tropes around them. I'd say that's how it has been planned from the start.
Maybe that's because I only recently started to get caught up

@ComradeQuestions:disqus Interesting you would say that…I experienced it very differently.
AD is one of the more memorable examples of a show with a pilot that made me think "What's the big deal about this show? This was boring and unfunny." and didn't even so much as smile. Then I put in the second episode and laughed

So true. I give most shows three episodes before I decide.
I broke the rule for Grimm. I didn't like anything about that show's pilot and just gave up. Am I missing something?

You are so clever and inaccessible. Worse than Community!

"equating non-fans with Two-and-a-Half-Men watchers " is nonsense.
A friend of mine is both a Two And A Half Men and Community fan. And of Seinfeld. And 30 Rock. And P&R. And AD.

"I think some people understand straight heroes and full-on anti-heroes, but flawed, struggling, basically goodish people are confusing and scary. "
Yes. Most people watch TV to have some characters to root for and some to actively dislike. The Community characters are clearly parodies of common archetypes. That falls

Yeah, I'm a sucker for subverting tropes. While it's sometimes a bit too meta, this show doesn't just subvert tropes, it destroys them. It also combines them in intelligent ways.

It was both the same point, though. Still, a good one.

No, it didn't. His hand was still bandaged the next day in Wife World, though. That means he can get drunk one night, go to sleep, wake up in the other universe, do his thing there, go to sleep, wake up and then get the hang-over.

No, I am not into you.

I think you are mistaken. It's the same colors as in the pilot. Whatever colors that is. Greenish-blue.

Yes, that's the problem. This being on network television I found it hard to believe there wouldn't be a conspiracy. And that's disappointing. But aside from the potential drugging there was no clue in the pilot and I am not so sure the creator intended for it to have a conspiracy angle.

I think the universes are blue and yellow? Anyone?

Remember when we called that nostalgia?
Ah, good times!

"Seriously fuck all of the survivors."
I'd love for you to tell them face-to-face and have them resemble your avatar. I'd even join in on the fun and I am not one of them.

1. You are comparing a soap to acting and dialog standards of what exactly?
2. Hell, no!
