Must've been rifling through video cassetes in the closet of that guy who writes XKCD. Even that cartoon must be pretty old.

Solo albums from John Oates and Art Garfunkel.
For some reason, our high school cross country team wound up with all the punk rock kids- I've talked to other people and found out this is a common phenomenon. When I tried to make the transition to rowing in college, all the playlists the older guys on the team had were Rage Against the Machine (popular, hard, made…
Springsteen can be good, though it might be better to make a playlist than just put on an album. You don't want to start of with "Badlands" and lose your momentum on "Racing in the Street".
Remember when ProStars had Michael Jordan, Wayne Gretzky, and Bo Jackson solving crimes with hi-tech gadgets? No?
Don't remind me. I was just thinking about the move this morning, assessing whether Atlanta had gotten better than average use out of their leftover 1996 Olympics facilities. I should try and get to more games in their last season downtown, but it seems like the talent has already left and the actual team will follow…

Nobody was a bigger fish-out-of-water on Trek than TNG guest star Mick Fleetwood, though.
If memory serves, he opted for it because Cirroc's cousin Kenny Lofton, previously of the Indians (and later of the Indians), happened to be with the Braves for one season while they were filming this. I also thought Ben's Giants cap made a nice connection to his Willie Mays fandom in "In the Cards".
I love how Sisko drops the '99 Yankees as one of the best ever- it blew right by me when I rewatched it for the recaps a few years ago, and it was only later I checked and found out the episode aired in January of 1995, before cornerstones of that dynasty like Mariano Rivera or Derek Jeter had even played a game in…
"Sometimes, a man'll tell his bartender things he'll never tell his doctor."
-One-timer Dr. Boyce even explains this phenomena in very first episode of Trek.
I guess he's too busy making wine with Steve Martin.

While a few people have pointed out the similarity between Donald Trump and Baron Harkonen, I think I came to that conclusion from a different direction, deciding that Ivanka was supposed to be Feyd Rautha / Sting. There's a way the Baron has of using him and his brother as the carrot and stick- the Beast Rabin Raban…
I think the "tell, don't show" might be what makes it hard to adapt, at least without somewhat inelegantly shoehorning that exposition into the film. You can see that with Virginia Madsen's introduction and narration, and a dozen different characters getting an inner monologue.

Made some yellow-eye beans I ordered from Rancho Gordo, which I served alongside one of my favorite summer pasta dishes. I boil up some penne, and in the last minute of cooking, dump in some julienned zucchini, yellow squash, and carrots. Drain and toss with fresh basil, kalamata olives, parmesean and some lemon zest.
Going out, I often like a thin crust- there's a really good authentic Neapolitan-style place near me that I love. A classic margherita is good, they also do one with hot peppers and sliced sausage. Sticklers for tradition, they would probably whomp you on the ass with the big wooden paddle if you asked for pineapple.
