I'm agnostic as to whether he's actually a complete hypocrite (hence the "or poses as" in parentheses), but to be honest I don't care either way because I enjoy his music.  BTW, that's pretty much how I am with all artists; I don't care about their personal lives, personal views, or whether they are

Yeah, I've used this album and The Cool to convince a couple of friends to give hip-hop a chance.

If you liked F&L, you should like The Cool.  Personally, I was introduced to Lupe with The Cool, then checked out F&L, which was before Lasers was released.  I think The Cool is his best album and F&L is a close second.  His last two albums are really only worth listening to if you like generic hip-hop.

In fairness to Lupe, the suckiness of Lasers wasn't entirely his fault.  His label pretty much went out of their way to screw him over.  They made him do "The Show Goes On," which ended up being a hit, somewhat validating the label's view of his music (it was less marketable than the dumbed-down misogyny of most

I prefer "Hurt Me Soul" because it's simply a joy to listen to.  I do like how he responds to his critics (particularly within the hip-hop community) in "Dumb It Down."  That's a bitingly brilliant song right there.

Food and Liquor and The Cool for sure.  I think the latter album is somewhat better, at least in terms of having a larger number of more enjoyable tracks, but both albums are definitely worth repeated listens.  I still play them rather frequently.

Yes!  This is definitely one of the best rap songs ever.  The imagery of his lyrics is impressive, but the production value of the song is great as well, and the song is enjoyable an a very visceral level.  I've played this song on repeat for hours at a time on multiple occasions.

Yeah I was struck by the thought a couple of episodes ago that Shelby was Drew since it would make for one hell of a twist.  I thought it was crazy, but now I'm pretty much convinced that that'll be the big twist.  I can't wait to see how or even if it plays out.

Boyd fuckin' Crowder, ladies and gents…he's way cooler than Raylan

fucking hilarious, captain dada!  The lena dunham sandwich recipe had me rolling

X & Y and Viva la Vida are about the same to me in terms of quality and enjoyableness.  X is basically a random assortment of excellent and mediocre, whereas Viva is basically a collection of above average, with two really good songs tossed in for good measure.

i never did bother to try to understand the lyrics.  the song always reminded me of clocks, and i couldn't tell the difference between the two for the longest time.

well then the internet is utter horseshit

me too. its my favorite coldplay song.

Yeah, I like "'Til Kingdom Come" as well, and "Talk" is good as well.  I still just don't get how people can listen to the album and think that it's lousy.

I like Parachutes, and I especially enjoy "Don't Panic."  In fact, I don't really dislike any of the tracks on the album, except possibly the title track.  Even then, my biggest quibble is that the track is too brief.

I've lived in Indiana my whole life and have never even heard of the place.  Must be a tiny little town in the southwest

This was basically a perfect episode of Parks and Rec, but I only say that because I'm a Hoosier and a Colts fan.  I do have to say that this show does a very good job of making Pawnee feel like an actual town in Indiana, what with some of the subtle (and, in this episode, not-so-subtle) references to various Indiana

Coulton needs to get some self-awareness.  No one's gonna sympathize with the guy who took a shitty rap song and somehow managed to arrange in such a way to make it even shittier. It's like being asked to sympathize with a guy who wrecks an '85 Nova that he stole from from a crackhead.
