Right on, if there's one film on this list that can go I think we all agree it's The Prestige - Nolan didn't really need 3 picks. I would have liked to see something from Haneke, Kore-eda, Von Trier (Dogville is top 10 material easy) but with so few contributors it's not hard to imagine most haven't seen the same

If you don't remember the scene they're talking about in Cache you are:
a) asleep when you watched it
b) high when you watched it
c) a serial killer
I get chills looking at the DVD cover because of that scene.

I think people are arguing in different directions here. I understand Mike's point and I agree - cutting in a well-edited scene is visually continuous, and I don't think TWFS meant to argue that it isn't. But what you're saying is cutting is okay, therefore this tracking shot should have just used cuts instead, and

Not cool Mr. Tobias
Shouldn't you think twice before spoiling big moments in a limited release film? It's great that you've probably seen Antichrist already, but for all the rest of us I'd love it if the box office report article didn't spoil films for me that haven't even come out in my neck of the woods.

I am exactly one of those people. I rarely go out to the theater these days to see major releases because I know they'll show up on Blu-ray, and with my set-up at home it just makes more sense to wait. I have Adventureland and Drag Me To Hell Blu-rays on my coffee table right now, I paid significantly less for each

Surveillance
This should win an award for one of the most obvious plot twists ever baked into a movie - I guessed it in the first 15 minutes. The rest of the film is an extended flashback filled with ludicrously unbelievable characters (redneck cops, French Stewart being one, who get high and shoot out people's tires

If the Fluid all came from alien tech, which all came from the mothership, why didn't they just collect it when they were on the ship? Why would Christopher be able to return the ship somewhere for help that they couldn't have all just gone in the first place?

Alien Trespass
More or less successful than The Lost Skeleton of Cadavra?

The Blu-ray is not coming out this week, it was delayed till October. Bummer, I was looking forward to finally seeing it, I figure if I'm going to see something this (supposedly) sick, might as well see it in the best form I can, so I'll wait.

Do not trust this review
This movie was utter crap. It played at midnight at SIFF, where people usually have a much higher tolerance for shitty films, and it died on the screen. There's one laugh-out-loud sequence that's ripped directly from Evil Dead 2 and that's about it. It's one of the worst written things I've

[Rec]
Looks like [Rec] is finally hitting Region 1 almost a year after the overwhelming internet buzz has worn off and the US remake has soiled its reputation. Good work Sony!
