I like your sass.

I like your sass.

I don't understand bandaid outfits either and, respectfully, I fucking love pussy.  I guess they're safe and sexy?  Milla Jovovich couldn't have survived that fall without one.

True fact.  It was like an LA hipster snuck on the ship.

@avclub-0fe01c8a5bcc308ca6bca874fd4caaab:disqus Couldn't have said it better myself.  Yep, those 6 episodes of ATLA were indeed disposable (though I would argue "Bato of the Water Tribe" was not - lots of good stuff there, and even "Fortuneteller" had its moments).  But 6 lames out of 60 makes for a 90% success rate.

@avclub-68c81a145181a6b3092221895a3fd1a9:disqus I can see what you're saying about Bolin, I certainly overlook some of the irritating inconsistencies in how his character is rendered because of his charm and humor.

Yeah, haha, that first post of mine must have been confusing. That first post was basically my gut reaction.  This episode, in particular, felt extremely different after rewatching it, largely because my excitement wore off.

I was surprised by how much I enjoyed this, and how this has stayed with me.  The combination of solid set and monster design (they really seemed to understand the psycho-sexual component that made HR Geiger's visual language so potent) as well as some brilliant new 3D technology make it really feel like a very

@avclub-543b660ee5d13b2d6732b94bd816ae55:disqus Haha. I got a legitimate chuckle over that.

True. The fact that ATLA had more time to play with made those character focused episodes possible, without taking anything away from the main narrative.  LoK is a bit unfairly hamstrung in that regard.

@facebook-774655640:disqus Yes, absolutely, pacing has been a concern of mine since the third ep.  Just rewatched this latest episode and - now that my excitement over things getting moving has died down - I'm really noticing how rushed some things feel and how unearned other things feel.

I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed this.  Probably the episode of LoK I've liked the most since the premiere.  Amon is turning out to be a really charismatic villain, they seem to have resolved Tarlokk blessedly quickly, Lin is such a pleasure and a really distinctive character within both the genre and

Too soon.

Too soon.

@avclub-0d88c6193f1a828ef949c4d7fd6f5431:disqus  I appreciate you trying to find common ground.  You're right that the energy bending finale of ATLA had many features of a lame deus ex machina resolution, something that I'm usually very hostile to as a viewer.
