Yeah, I'll definitely give it another shot tonight. Way too nice out now, though.

I thought about whether or not a more elaborate explanation for this coincidence would make it feel less lame, but I'm not really sure. If there is one explanation, I think it really should have been revealed or explored a bit more by now. The fact that Korra hasn't at least wondered about the firebender crime wave…

I was so luke on this. Don't even know where to start. It felt like a DC comics cartoon in Avatar drag. Which is probably lots of peoples' thing. Just not mine.

It signifies unimaginative writing.

@EmilyGuendelsberger:disqus that's a fair criticism of my tone, and I will give some thought to being more considerate of others' emotional attachment to the material in future comments. As a guy who often loves nerdy things (like ATLA), I mean that.
@avclub-09dbda0ec297f8e1fb8fa397efd0f70a:disqus If you're going to be a pedant (and I appreciate your candor, most people resist terming themselves that way), you have to be correct. Normally I try not to argue with pendants - they frequently miss the point of an argument - but this is pretty irresistible and…
If you prefer to be called Emily, I will happily do so going forward. No offense/snark intended. If anything, quite the opposite: I wanted to make it clear that strongly disagreeing with you did not reflect any disdain on my part.
Cool, thanks all.
Question for current fans of the show: how's this going? I really loved seasons one and two of Mad Men, but three and especially four left me cold. The whole thing started to feel like a really smug, self impressed soap opera.
@avclub-68c81a145181a6b3092221895a3fd1a9:disqus I like a good argument too. I'd be happy to debate the virtues and faults of Korra, but telling me that I shouldn't air my criticisms because you think I'm disingenuous isn't something I can respond to with reason.
I look forward to the team solving the mystery of why Korra doesn't ask anyone above the age of 30 what the fuck is going on.
Yeah, the fact that I haven't responded individually to the thousands of gibbering fans spinning tales about this show really discredits me. For example, that guy a few posts down who says I need to graduate from school because I don't agree that Korra is objectively something something something more than ATLA. …
I hear you, buddy. I've often wondered how many of my complaints about Korra would exist if they had planned on doing a 50 episode run from the start, instead of 10, with another 12 in the pipe.
Oh man. I don't want to get hung up on semantics, but you cannot argue that the author is objectively correct on this point, because you are not evaluating something that be described that way.
