I didn't catch this until I saw it mentioned in the DVD extras, but the climactic gunfight exactly reprises Angel's first entry into town, seeing each villager in the same place and order.  You know, before the guns come out.

I would have thought Cloverfield was near optimal for "found footage" horror, and it was near the start of the fad.  I would have loved to have seen a comparison here.
