I'd say that Saludos Amigos or one of the other anthology movies (Fun and Fancy Free, Melody Time) might qualify… I'd say that at least Cinderella would be better than those. One that sticks in my mind is Azula's breakdown in the Avatar series.
Genndy does great work; Dexter's Lab was one of my favorite shows growing up, and I love Samurai Jack for its style and what it represents in terms of expanding the scope of animation. I'm hoping that the success of Hotel Transylvania will give him enough leeway to work on projects that are more personal.
