Remember, he's a Red Priest, just like Melisandre.

Biter was in the cage last season, right? But they don't seem to be setting him up for taunting Jaime and Brienne. So I doubt we'll be getting any face chewing in the future. Tyrion keeps his nose, and Brienne keeps her cheek?

I get your point. I too am disappointed that TV Arya is nowhere near as murderous as Book Arya. (Jaqen killing the Tickler in Season 2 robbed the show of one of the great cathartic moments of the entire series.)

I agree it's a good scene, but the show never really set it up. For one, in Season 1, Ned never says that he's giving 20 of his personal guard to accompany Ser Beric. Harwin wasn't established as a character as a Stark servant, etc, etc.

Plenty of stuff still left

And remember in Season One, Jaime and Jory are sharing war stories of crushing the Greyjoys and Thoros comes up as the dude leading the charge into battle.

HOT PIE!

Yup. Remember, Thoros was a total badass. He'd dive into the melees at tournaments with his flaming sword, and he was the first one in the breach when the walls of Pyke went crashing down, cutting down Ironborn with his flaming sword.

Jaime and Jory did bring up Thoros of Myr during their talk. They were sharing memories of crushing the Greyjoy rebellion and Thoros was the first guy through the breach.

They said they caught the Hound cause he was sleeping drunk.

@avclub-f8b1a4ecb13dc44c448ce82a6e4b5c71:disqus I told a non-reader at my viewing party that this guy will make Joffrey look like Mother Theresa. Not joking.

Re: the no flashback rule that VanDerWerff brought up…

Yeah, having to explain Vargo Hoat and his sellswords and how they were bought over by Tywin and defected to the…. blah, blah, blah would just confuse the hell out of non-readers.

No one ever likes Cat, which is why unCat is so awesome.

At my viewing party, someone remarked that he looks like the closest thing we have to a true book Stark.

The contrast between her in her armor (she looks like a huge NFL lineman) compared to Jaime in just a shirt was startling.

First no Strong Belwas and now no Butterbumps! This adaption is a disaster!

GRRM has confirmed that Strong Belwas has been cut from the series. In the comments to his April 4 blog post a couple of fans asked him straight up and he answered.

I love these two episodes. Hell, I love all of Season One, which I unashamedly describe as one of the most perfect first seasons of a television show I've seen. Bledel struggles with her acting (it's her first real gig), but she's just so charming and lovely that I don't care, and the conflict between the three

The hat is Dodger's blue, and I think that was a tip of the hat to the fact that Scott Patterson spent seven years pitching in the minor leagues.
