I realise this is four months late (finally catching up now), but I also love the rapid zooming in and out on various characters' faces that they often do. Floors me every time.

Oh shit, I'm an idiot. Disregard my above comment!

I went to a place in Japan (Matsushima) which is famously considered to have one of the country's three greatest views (seriously, there's a Wikipedia page on it and everything), and my friend literally did not look at the view with her own eyes once. She saw it on a digital screen while she took about twenty photos,

Holy shit, you weren't exaggerating about that 20-minute ambient track.

Not trying to rag on you at all, but this is the first time I've ever seen anyone write "I wish he would stop using the f-word" in reference to a rapper.

Yes, thanks guys, that's the one I was thinking of. Classic!

Some of Marge's greatest lines are the surprisingly harsh ones. There's one that I just can't recall right now, something involving the words "He's clearly…" Can anyone help me out?

It's one thing to dislike the show, that's fine, but Phil's description of the show is so off-base I can't really take anything else he says seriously. Honestly, I have no idea what he's on about in that paragraph.

Well, Ron partially got his wish: in New Zealand, this one was never repeated for some reason. It was only in 1998 that I finally saw it (I somehow missed its first airing) and my god, what a revelation.

Yeah, it definitely has that 'anything goes' kind of feel to it, and while that makes for a pretty disjointed episode, in terms of gags-per-minute it's phenomenal.

My god, I'm this far through the comments and I'm still rediscovering great lines that I forgot about. This may be one of the sillier episodes of the golden era, but goddamn if it doesn't have me in stitches every time.

@avclub-41e23e24ee2670c4128cd7e5e5ee42ab:disqus  Indeed. One of my all-time favourite Simpsons lines.

Indeed! Spill the beans, whitey!

I can't be the only one who's just skipping to the comments section now. Do I need to read a highly detailed (yet inaccurate) plot synopsis of an episode I've seen dozens of times?

If you can't enjoy the lyrics on 'Spaceship Coupe' then the album is not for you.

@avclub-a43012a332fc066e7ecf57a9b678fb51:disqus  Oh, you've been in a coma for the last seven years? Pfft, that's basically just a long sleep-in.

I'm really enjoying it as well, Shapeship Coupe included (it's just so ridiculous, especially when the guitar solo comes in - I mean that in a good way). And I never thought I'd hear anything as affecting as Blue Ocean Floor come from Timberlake OR Timbaland.

Spent most of the video in anticipation of that one moment. Classic.

Indeed!

If anything, I thought that 6 was probably the weakest, but 4 and 5? Fine.
