Threads freaked me out when I watched it a couple of years ago. I'm in my mid-30's and the cold war is over, so I dread to think what my reaction would have been if I'd seen it when you did.

As someone who watches US college sport but is British, it always amazes me the following that is built up around sport at this level, such as teams having stadia with a capacity of >100k, and at the attention paid to the NCAA basketball tournament.

No Jeff = Not Coupling. I'm pretending series 4 was a completely different program.

It's worse when they broadcast the last season of something that you know has already been cancelled. It's taking some of the gloss off the last season of Happy Endings currently on E4, knowing that I only have 2 or 3 episodes left.

I wonder if Fox News thinks it has any effect on British society, given that it's available on the FOX channel here.

This Not-So-Charming Man?

Is Michael Bay related to Vladimir Putin? Come to think of it, I've never seen them both at the same time.

I'm assuming Hitler because of the word Socialism in National Socialism?

Frank Burnside. Might be a little obscure for a mainly US site though!

It's good to see the intellect of the Daily Mail reader is improving! Didn't spot Abi Morgan, who is Welsh, won for The Hour.

What was Wenger thinking sending Walcott on that early?

Major Bummer *salutes

It would be weird watching Spin City now with Mrs Coach in it, I'd keep expecting Coach Taylor to turn up!

I can't remember the Foundation books as I've only started re-reading recently starting from the Robots books - they certainly have some decent female characters.

At the risk of a second incredibly dull post in a row (see my post above) - the two languages were similar until Noah Webster altered the spelling of certain words in US English (color/colour, favourite/favorite etc.) as he wanted to differentiate the two.

It's more of a cartoon/film staple where people trying to sound more educated or of a higher class stop dropping h's and insert them incorrectly at the start of other words.

Those antiquities are just resting in our museum

If you're talking Coupling then surely Richard Coyle would be better?

Good job Edward Snowden didn't work for the BBC.

A little like polonium, I imagine. Russia might not involve itself in the domestic politics of the UK, but is strongly suspected of using that material to murder someone while resident here.
