You have to really crank the volume on Pod for it to work. Everything is mixed really, really low. But if you turn the volume up enough, or change the volume setting on itunes, then it really hits.

Pod is just a really tight album in a way that Last Splash isn't. But I think Last Splash, arguably, takes more left turns.

I completely agree. While they were still immersed in polemics, De La Rocha started crafting narratives, and when he was still creating slogans, they were a lot more interesting than on the first album. Songs like "Testify," which I always read as partly an ode to whistle blowers, seems pretty apt in the era of…

My post was a little snarky, and I apologize. I figured you were talking about the present day Seinfeld crew, because of the Jason Alexander photo above where he has somehow magically regrown his hair. What are you talking about? Both Seinfeld and Jason Alexander were born in the 1950s, while Michael Richards was born in 1949. Julia Louis Dreyfus is the youngest and she was born in 61 (and somehow she's even more attractive these days. How did that happen?). Jason Segel was born in 1980. Neil Patrick Harris was…

Don't forget Pissed Jeans. I think they're a rather successful modern day hardcore punk band.

You've never read Moby Dick!? Really? And you call yourself a writer.

For some reason, the Onion's version of Biden has completely replaced the real man in my mind. When Biden was being polite and well mannered, I just couldn't wrap my head around the fact that it is the real him.

That's what you get for trying to save the children.
