Walt appears to have obtained another Ruger LCR like the one he had in S4, which is a double action revolver, as all revolvers with bobbed hammers are. Ice/water wouldn't be a problem in the short term anyway as it would all melt pretty quickly in New Mexico. Mechanical complexity doesn't really enter into it…
