Lots of great examples on here.

I just wish I could get my hands on a big of popcron.

And so
Chris Get Hard Joins Neil Gai Man on the list of people that would have been way too easy to pick on in 3rd grade.

Barnes & Noble
I thought the best sketch was the last one about Barnes & Noble originally starting out as a public toilet for the homeless. It was stupid, dead-on, and very short.

Never Get Over Being The Weird Kid in High School:
The Tim Burton Exhibit

Took me a while to love De Palma
When I was a kid I liked his more straight-up movies - Casualties of War, Scarface, The Untouchables, Carlito's Way, Carrie,Blow Out - but still didn't really go nuts about them. I always felt like they were good movies that could have been great if the he had held back some, done

Slumdog was fun enough, but there is no denying that it is nothing more than a glorified Hollywood schmaltz fest with subtitles and Boyle's flashy style to off-set the sap only slightly.

Not Gary Higgins

Saw The Reader and Wendy and Lucy over the weekend
and was surprised by both.

Yeah, I always rock the CNR velvet portrait. It just feels right.

Give up, Asshole, you'll never top your applebee's burn.

I forgot to mention the best part of the whole movie, though: Clint Eastwood sings over the few last shots of the movie. I gues I take it back. The movie is kind of worth it at the theater just for him wistfully crooning about his Gran Torino. People were fucking HOWLING with laughter. The guy has fucking LOST IT.

Saw Gran Torino and Coraline this weekend
Coraline beat the shit out of Clint Eastwood.

Excuse me if I skimmed over one of Newman's extremely safe answers BUT
Am I to understand that this movie does not make fun of Phantom Menace AT ALL?

Psychic Friends must have an enormous CGI budget
because that sure as shit looks like Vivica A. Fox.

What I like about horror movies is that the great ones have no rules. Your protagonist could get killed at any time, we could switch tones at any second, the director can get away with pretty much anything as long as it is entertaining and violent.

Get Villanche on the phone right now!

I caught MILK this weekend too and was also surprised. It's a pretty standard biopic but the performances are all rock solid, it looks amazing, and it was never boring. The ending was still as cheesy as I figured it would be, though.

Good place to start for new Huston readers
It's a very good book - funny, interesting, smart, even sort "literary" for you learnified readers.

I've always felt the Razzies were deeply flawed in their voting
I mean, look at the shit they nominated this year - mainly a bunch of quick-buck comedies that don't really strive for anything but cheap-ass laughs. They should nominate more movies like The Happening where there is some actual ambition, some vision -
