'Quiet wrongness' does perfectly describe the unsettling nature of some dreams.  I've had dreams where everything is fine and then my brain sort of comes to the realization that something is slightly off about this world and that's when I wake up and can't get the image of whatever was wrong out of my head.

Haha, that reporter said 'fuck off back to America'.  It's now official, he's your's suckas.

I'm confused.  The tone of this article does not seem to accurately represent how this is obviously the best thing that's ever happened.

I watched an interesting video about the cinematography of The Wire (I think I actually found it from this website when it was released).  It was probably at least a year ago, but one of the things I remember from it was the author pointing out scenes that were very documentary-like.  And not just the use of security

I think the gist of the argument boils down to: 'If I find it entertaining, it's not propaganda'.  That's what I'm getting anyways.

When I've submitted scientific articles to journals the reviewer comments often mention that they are 'well written' (if that particular one was).  And at no point would any sane person consider a highly specialized scientific article be considered 'artistic'.

Just don't mention anything related to Star Wars or Han Solo and you'll be fine.  Actually, negotiating for this movie may be a bit difficult.

I love that, "The next trendy liberation struggle".  Like human progress is all just trends that are quickly thrown away and we rightfully return to our proper medieval belief system after people move on to the next "trendy struggle".

I remember whenever a bowling team or whatever would come selling chocolate covered almonds, I'd feel obligated to buy one box even though I didn't like them, but when the girl scouts came to the door, I'd be scrounging through the whole house looking for change to buy as many boxes as I could.

I'm so damn nerdy that I always think of the NASA PR guy in Apollo 13.  (Also, Bryan Cranston was always Buzz Alderin for me in From the Earth to The Moon before Breaking Bad).

I don't know, people in 24 seem to have very short memories.  Like a portion of LA is blown up by a nuclear bomb in the early morning and by mid-afternoon, nobody seemed to care.

The Zeppo is probably my personal favourite episode.  That little smile that he gives himself at the end as Cordelia's making fun of him was just perfect.

You can say, 'I disagree with Obama and think he's the worst president ever because he did a, b, c, and d and thinks x, y, and z' and be perfectly reasonable.  You say, 'I see that Obama is half black and therefore I think it's impossible for him to be American' and you are a racist douchebag.

I remember reading the collections and counting the number of strips in a story and calculating how many months it would have gone on for.  I found it really funny when one strip (or a whole week) of strips was just Calvin growing or falling or something.  Like people would open their newspapers and one of the comics

I remember the one strip where he dreams of blowing up his school with a fighter jet.  I'd like to see that fly nowadays.

That was honestly one of my favourite strips.  Something about the image of him sitting in the toilet and it actually spinning him around.  He was obviously a really small kid.

Damn, there goes the only intelligent remark I can think of.

Not wanting to have sex with someone you're not attracted to is not homophobia.

Obviously, if you're straight you can only be completely accepting of gay people if you have absolutely no problems with actually having sex with a man.  Just like how gay people are all bisexual.

I remember watching full arty movies on Showcase and Bravo that promised nudity.  I swear I'd watch them through completely and be a little disappointed when some dude flashed his wang near the end (cause you knew immediately that that's what they were talking about), but at the same time I'd almost start to
