Exactly, I don't really care about this one way or another, but what's really irritating me is this implied assumption that english-speaking, human/turtle-shaped, ninja aliens are obviously more logical than Earth-based, mutated, ninja turtles.  I'm not even sure where I'd start arguing for one side over the other…

Yeah, since when are there aliens in the BSG universe?
