Hence why I said "modeled after the samurai of Kurosawa movies," and not simply "modeled after Samurai." I know the difference.

Who's to say that wasn't what he'd be setting out to do? We never saw it, so we'll never know…
Elitist Trash: Not sure if you're joking or what, but there's a massive gap in your comparison. Coppola lost his touch because Apocalypse Now took nearly everything he had. He actually attempted suicide while making it because he was having such trouble realizing his ambition. It took almost 10 years to finally…
Ktotwf, His sister, sure, but the Jedi Order? What Jedi order? They had been systematically wiped out by the Empire. This was established in A New Hope. Obi-Wan, Yoda, and Luke were basically all that were left.
I honestly think we would have gotten a much better performance out of Ford if Han died in the movie. He doesn't bring much of the charisma and humor that he brought to A New Hope and Empire. His performance in Jedi screams 'contractually obligated,' IMHO.
I always imagine that when Luke sees the ghost of young Anakin he thinks, "Wait… who the fuck is that?"
I think it depends on the circumstances of Han's death, which aren't spelled out with much detail in the article. If it were handled correctly, they could have made it work.
Nerd rage, indeed.
That ending sounds like it could have made "Jedi" equally as good as "Empire" or better, instead of being by *far* the least essential film of the original trilogy.
If Lane Pryce slapping a steak over his crotch and yelling "I've got a big Texas belt buckle!!!" isn't FUNNY funny, then I don't know what is.
… What Miller said.
Every time Joan Holloway cries…
… 1,000 baby angels die of grief.
Yeah, I'm glad they rounded out the episode with all of the Don/Lane hijinks. After everything with Anna and Joan, it was a nice break. Lots of laugh out loud moments.
The Umbrellas Of Cherbourg is a film in part about doomed romance. Obviously they're trying to distract themselves. So yeah, Gamera was definitely more fitting for the moment. It was a nice touch to mention it as a possible viewing choice, though. Puts a subtle exclamation point on the whole endeavor.
I'm only a little young. I'm 23.
Boogie Nights
Came across it on HBO one night when I was about 11 or 12 and had the TV to myself. It was the greatest night of my life.
Ouch, Bad Typo.
Normally I wouldn't be so pedantic, but you refer to him as "Emo" at one point. I choose to believe you mixed him up with Emo Phillips.
Bones is a decent show for what it is. It's entertaining and a decent way to pass time.
Hmmm…
But could it possibly top Bones' previous cross-promotion with Avatar in the ridiculousness department?
All of the above.
Also, I was watching Law & Order the other day (I usually have it on as background noise while working), and when Wendall Pierce showed up on-screen as the opposing counsel, I said "HEY LOOK, IT'S BUNK!!!" I do this with anyone who was on The Wire.
Best New Ep Yet!
This episode was on fire. Ranks up there with "Roswell That Ends Well," and "The Farnsworth Parabox" in concept and execution. Also, love the idea of Hedonism-bot marrying a house.
