He "sucks"? Way to be racist. He sat down during the national anthem and eliminated oppression forever.
He's a hypocrite because he lives a life of luxury while putting on a big show to care about the little guy. He doesn't care, it's a publicity stunt, and if you can't see that, I don't know what to tell you.
That's the first thing I said, how is that "backpedaling"?
Woah, there's that race card! Never said anything about him being black.
*sigh* Nothing, Kaepernick is great and he's going to change the world, maaan. Anyone who disagrees is racist.
Yeah, this is why I don't. This site turned into an echo chamber so gradually I barely even noticed. And I've been posting on and off for eight years.
Yeah, you all agree 100% with what you did, but you've been smart to avoid saying so, as if that renders my points invalid.
Thanks! I always figured I was more like Oscar Pistorius' legs⦠minus the murdered girlfriend.
I never said it was a bad thing, either. I said it was a pointless, hypocritical thing. Whether you admit it or not, you agree with what Kaepernick did; there's no "strawman" here. You're baffled as to why someone would disagree, so I've made my points, and you've dismissed them as "dumb". That's about it.
Oh, we wouldn't want you to be confused or anything. It's a mildly insulting gesture, but it's also not any sort of positive action that will fix anything, ever. It's a great way to hog the spotlight for yourself, not fix complex social issues.
I'm a veteran, and I was paid a living wage while I was active duty. Were you not? Maybe you joined the wrong military, dude.
You guys are trying to make him out to be a martyr of some sort of hero. I'm saying he's another rich hypocritical athlete hungry for the spotlight. it was a publicity stunt, not some bold, moving statement. And you guys are eating it up.
No, it's not precisely anything. What did he do to "address" these issues that he claims are so important to him? Oh, he sat during the national anthem. So brave.
He's in damage-control mode. It's not like he tried having a serious discussion about any of this stuff before the incident.
Thanks, happy to help. Because you totally don't know anyone like the people I'm describing, right? Who did you vote for again?
Really? The multi-millionaire concerned about the "oppression" of people of color? What has he done to help, again? Oh, that's right: he uses his First Amendment rights to criticize the country that allows those rights, and then plays the victim when other people use their same rights to criticize him.
Yet, I know plenty who are big fans of this current one, and will call you a racist if you criticize him.
How about, they're all assholes and hypocrites, just varying degrees of assholes and hypocrites?
But "YAY, Obama!", right, everyone!
