I didn't actually end up seeing it until much mich later, but 1995 is when I started keeping a very extensive list of all the classic/art house movies I wanted to see (I had just started college and taken my first film class) and La Haine was one of the first films on the list.

"They say the fuckin smog's the fuckin reason you have such beautiful fuckin sunsets" will never not crack me up. I loved Get Shorty.

I loved Usual Suspects, and it still ranks among my favorite movies today. I used to run the film committee in college and of course I brought it to campus. It was so much fun watching it again knowing what was coming and just listening to the growing wave of realization as the audience figured out the ending.

I could seriously listen to him shit all over Budweiser all day long.

The man is a goddamn public service.

View to a Kill was the first Bond movie I really remember, and I was a mega Duran Duran fan at the time, so it pushed all my buttons. I still have a soft spot for it, even though I find Roger Moore pretty damn ridiculous as Bond.

I like it for the scenery if nothing else. That palace was so beautiful.

After seeing that behind the scenes special I can't take Meryn Trant seriously as a bad guy anymore. He was all smiley out of character and just had a delightful melodic voice. Mostly he talked about how his character would often stand still in those scenes where Cersei first goes up to meet the High Sparrow cause

Yeah, to me it felt like he had just shut down in order to steel himself for what he was going to do.

Holy shitballs that was intense. And now we're under a tornado warning, so I don't think I'm getting to sleep any time soon.

Yeah, I saw it again yesterday and found it just about as thrilling.

My cats are obsessed with drinking from the bathroom sink. They have a fountain, which will do if there's jo people around, but otherwise, nothing but the finest sink water will do.

I love the theme song, it's just delightfully early 90s techno. There have been a few questionable episodes (though granted I'm not usually paying full attention, it's the kiddos watching) but overall it's a fun show.

Man, I'm still so sad over the loss of Trophy Wife. Marcia Gay Harden was incredible on that show.

We may not have seen much range from her yet, but when her persona is harnessed properly it really works. I'm excited to see her on Ghostbusters.

Man, if it was even one week later I could have gone. I'm devastated to have missed the UHF screening and Kyle Kinane. Stupid young minds that need stupid educating making me miss great comedy.

I just caught the end of that documentary a few weeks and am dyingn to see the whole thing (I had a crazy obsession with A Chorus Line as a kid). I only saw Tyce at the very end and he came off as such a total douche.

I didn't see it as his horror being greater, I felt like he was the surrogate for the audience and by seeing his face it was a way of sparing us the sight of the actual deed while still conveying the horror of it.

Bullshit, no one here is getting titillated by the rapes. I will also say that in this case with Sansa that was completely in line with the characters and story, and quite frankly it surprises me that anyone was surprised at what happened once Sansa agreed she would marry him. We know he's all about dominating others

Yeah, this assumption that if we don't have kids we're just stuck in permanent selfish adolescence is so obnoxious. It kills me that I don't have a family, and three in top of that people get all judgy about it. I really don't get how anyone can be so pushy about such a personal and possibly deeply painful matter.
