That probably is another factor as well. There is an increasing number of superhero shows and some are better written or have higher production values. In Supergirl's case it also has a difficult time slot with direct competition from another DC show and programs with very high viewership. Plus the network change was

I don't know if that's it. I've heard a lot of complaints from people who aren't offended by the sexual stuff. Though I wouldn't call anything sexual on this show explicit and Maggie/Alex are tame.Plus I'm pretty sure Supergirl is losing people that are not in the family range. If I'm not mistaken all the CW Superhero

I enjoyed Mon-el in this episode but he is eating up too much of Kara's screentime, even before they got together that started to happen. Kara needs to spend more time interacting with others next season, especially Alex. That used to be an important part of the show. Last season found time to give Kara multiple

I think its better he is less powerful than Kara. It's already hard to justify Martian Manhunter not doing more and if people are upset about Mon-el's prominence now it would be worse if he was basically Superman.

I actually liked this episode better than last weeks and I did mostly enjoy Mon-el in it though I do agree that the writers need to balance the characters' screentime better and focus less on the Kara/Mon-el romance.

Or do another Supergirl episode where the Flash visits or where they go to earth 1. Not every crossover needs to be a nominal two parter.

I liked the Winn plot even though it was very predictable. I enjoyed the character interactions and teamwork. As much as the show is in some ways more of an ensemble there still isn't always enough of that.

I loved this episode. This was the best episode this show has had in a while. It had some plot holes but unlike last week there was nothing that was infuriating or distracting. Whoever directed this episode should come back because the action and visuals were well done.

Though I thought it was pretty clear what they were implying in the "slept over" scene they were overly euphemistic about it. I said last week that they seemed to be turning into one of those overly chaste network same-sex couples.

They implied it with Alex/Maggie in a more subtle way and they were quite overt about Mon-El hooking up with Eve and Winn hooking up with Silver Banshee (can't remember her real name) last season so I wouldn't say its the first.

I get that they need to have some life outside each other but there should be more interaction between them.

I couldn't agree with the review's take on Mon-el more. Chris Wood is charming and great with one liners but Mon-El should not be getting more screentime than every season one character who isn't Kara or be front and centre in an episode about Kara and Alex's father's return after over a decade. It is throwing the

I agree, movies like the ones you listed need mainstream exposure now more than ever so I think it is great that more movies can get the buzz that comes with a best picture nod.

After the Golden Globe snubs I thought Adams was more likely to be nominated than the movie but it ended up being the other way around.

I disagree about reducing the best picture category to five. Since the expansion some very good/great films have gotten best picture nominations when they wouldn't have otherwise and some years it has added a little more variety to the category.

Kara and Alex are close in age so since Kara is only 26 or so Alex can't be much older or it would contradict things like the season one flashbacks.

I have mixed feelings about CatCo. The show is a overstuffed right now and its hard to imagine how it will fit in if they feature it more. I also don't find Snapper nearly as good of a character as Cat Grant. On the other hand, I do enjoy Kara at the office and her just being Kara Danvers instead of Supergirl and

I think they did.I'm not a shipper but I'm already seeing double standards in how they are portrayed (physical affection etc) and that bothers me.

I did find that ending and their kiss and dance rushed. It's a good thing James wasn't in this episode because they barely had time to wrap up the three romantic stories.

I'm still not entirely sold on Kara and Mon-El. They have decent chemistry and that kissing scene was great but the writing isn't working. Right now I find them more likeable individually than together. Mon-el came off badly this episode. Its fine to feature them a lot in a Valentine's episode but the balance of
