I've purposely missed everything Snyder has done with my favorite superhero aside from the first 8 issues or so of his Batman. It took me that long to realize I didn't care for his schtick.

So, now, beneath that target he wears on his chest to draw fire away from his head, is a complex network of delicate machinery that works perfectly even though he is repeatedly shot, stabbed, and punched in that general area?

This Snyder is the guy who had Joker cut his own face off and wear it as a mask.
