They hate one another, but they need one another. Barry is Thawne's reason to exist, and Thawne will always be Barry's mentor. It's a really cool dynamic. You don't often see hero-villain relationships that have a psychologically believable reason for them to keep one another around.
Her entire career is built on playing pretend, but she does not ever bullshit. I think that's the key to her longevity. The boobs got her in the door, but her sense of humor and quick wit kept her around.
