Um… kawaii? I guess. Or something.
Um… kawaii? I guess. Or something.
Not even remotely plausible.
The yellow speech bubbles help me imagine Dick Durrock is voicing all of Swampie's dialogue. "Do not bring your evil here" indeed.
Oh, you said Tarzan. My mistake!
We seek him here, we seek him there,
Buster Crabbe wasn't Tarzan. He was Flash Gordon. AND Buck Rogers.
The Doctor: "You know, the very powerful and the very stupid have one thing in common. They don't alters their views to fit the facts, they alter the facts to fit the views, which can be uncomfortable if you happen to be one of the facts that needs altering"
I would be surprised. He's never complained about police officers carrying (and using) guns. Batman is usually aware of his blind spot and his level of training, versus every other person on the planets level of training. Usually.
I luckily don't really remember the bad ones, because I never go back to them. But usually it's a dirty store, ill-managed, and/or has hostile employees.
I have four Absolute editions: Authority, Planetary, New Frontier, and Avengers vs. JLA. Three of them I got while I was working at a comic shop, so employee discount, the other I got with a gift certificate. So I have not paid full price for any of them, but they are easily the most expensive "comics" I own.
I used to get into epic arguments with friends about which movie was the funniest ever made: Blazing Saddles or Monty Python and the Holy Grail. My pick was always for Mel Brooks.
The movie was always one of my favorites - its such a great adventure story, like the Aenied but with rabbits - and I didn't read the book until I was much older. And now the book is one of my favorites.
I love that exchange.
This is how I watch MST3K, and why I still rewatch old episodes. References that flew over my head when I first saw it now hit me square between the eyes.
Always happy to see someone mention Farscape. Impossible for that show to be more meaningful as I age for me… it was very important to me at the time it was on, and remains so. For me, that's one of those pop culture things inexplicably linked with who I was and what I was doing, and made a huge impact on my life.
Cheerfully withdrawn!
Tell that to Malcolm X.
You have been reading the wrong comics. Heimdall is always a bit player, but he's never not a badass.
Actually, T'Challa did once get a job as a school teacher in Harlem and dated a woman named Monica, also as school teacher.
Jormundgandr!
