I'm not sure I'm going to see it. I was seriously underwhelmed by BvS:DoJ, and making the time to see a movie these days requires more effort than it used to. It doesn't look worth the sacrifice at the moment - if it had good reviews, I'd be more inclined to give a chance. I'll wait to see it on cable, probably.

My current pull list:

Planetary 1. I'd love to rant about Planetary. I haven't been able to do that for over a decade!

I got the first two issues of Monstress, really dug it, and then lost track of it. I'll have to keep an eye out for the trades. It looked pretty badass.

I mostly just enjoyed "flirting" with Claudia Black. The fact that the character gives zero fucks in the middle of the bog-standard heroic fantasy story was icing on the cake.

Lego Avengers for me. After forcing my way through all the "fight fight fight, fight fight fight, fight, fight fight" levels, I've opened up freeplay and am collecting all the characters. Beta Ray Bill, Ms. Marvel, Korvac, Diamondback, Fin Fang Foom - there's a lot to love here.

Morrigan is the shit, yo.

Adventurers, or "murder-hobos" as I like to call them, come in all shapes and sizes. Almost all of them are sociopaths to some degree.

It got into the 30s, introduced this weird Wild Cards-ish corner of Chicago, redesigned the Hawks' uniforms, then died and was reborn as Hawkman. Then Zero Hour happened.

Continuity is a bugbear. Good stories are what should count, getting them to fit into the larger narrative should be secondary. Not entirely forgotten, but continuity should never be the driving force for a story.

Most of the X-Men were rejected/back-up Legion designs. So when Dave got to create the Imperial Guard… whoah boy, did he go crazy.

Ah, prairie shit. This is sad news indeed. Though I am a strong man, etc. etc.

Dave Cockrum was a saint and a genius and he died far too fucking early. I dig his boot choices, man.

I haven't read a single issue and I can still spot all the inaccuracies.

I got the Lego Avengers game for my birthday and I have been playing the ever-living fuck out of it. I unlocked Beta Ray Bill last night and damn, that was excited.

Yeah, Robinson used him really well in that book. But then Golden Age was phenomenal cover to cover - even the hackneyed "save Hitler's brain" stuff worked. I remember being schooled on Usenet when the trade came out, because until then I never realized Hawkman was a legitimate Golden Age character with a different…

Clearly, Englehart was a Young Ones fan.

Yeah, I was really bummed that Katar was kind of erased, and even Shayera got fridged during the Rann/Thanagar War. Definitely my favorite iteration of the Hawks.

It was the restaurant story that was foremost in my mind when I typed that comment.

Sci-fi space cops is the way to go, not reincarnated Egyptian lovers!
