I liked that movie for the 1st section where he was a weasel trying to get out of things but once the training montage was over it was back to standard Tom Cruise is Tom Cruise in the movie formerly known as Edge of Tomorrow.

so we have a theme of him acting best when he plays bad guys, but for whatever reason he is famous for playing good guys. Interesting.

So doing the math the movies run (extended edition being counted) 182, 186 and 144 minutes long for a total of 512 minutes or 8 and a half hours. So this is almost a 50% cut. Personally I think you can get this whole story done in under 4 hours.
