I had nearly the same experience. I saw Total Recall at a friend's house when I was 8. Maybe the first R-rated movie I had seen. Holy crap that movie left an impression, and by that I mean probably traumatized me with its insane violence. The main thing I remembered is Arnold ripping the huge implant out of his nose.
