I've got some sympathy for Fajen even though I quite liked the episode, feeling it was far superior than any number of one-offs the show has done.  Certainly it was my favorite Gatiss episode, although I quite liked the Daleks and Winston. But when it comes to defying physics, there is the Doctor's blue box, and then

It sort of feels like Todd's trying to talk himself into liking this season more than he actually does.

So, they are going to completely gloss over the cocaine and hookers and impaled dog heads?

Ahh, well, I didn't think to sign in to my account.  I just wanted to click and watch, and then I left when that didn't seem possible.  I'll check it again later.

If It's possible to watch any of these without signing up for Amazon Prime, I wasn't able to figure it out.  I didn't give it much time, but I really shouldn't have to.  And if I need to sign up for their service in order to watch some poorly reviewed shows, think I'll pass.

Well now, the chances I'll go see this movie just rose from zero to 0.0000000000%.  Oh wait, is that technically not rising at all?

Pretty sure Tarantino can sniff the real thing if he likes.

Pretty sure Taran

The one thing I take from the realistic nature of the violence is how totally ridiculous the PG-13 rating has become. They don't show blood when someone gets shot sixteen times, but a network drama can show Abigail bleeding out on the kitchen floor? We live in a weird country.

There was no one on the bus but they smelled pot? Was the pot smoking other pot? Methinks something is rotten in the state of Swedenlandia.

I like all the writers mentioned in the comments so far, but I find
comparing any of them to each other a little… I don't know, wrong.
They are all so different stylistically that it's like comparing apples
and napalm. They have all written at least one novel that as great as
anything the others have done, and you

And…?

Well, you mean also in their fiction, don't you?

Bitch, are you for real???

You wanna take a trip?  Listen to the audio versions of his books. They are a gas and a half.  I shudder to think how hard they must have been to read aloud, but the Books on Tape narrators make them sing. I really enjoyed everything from The Black Dhalia up through The Cold Six Thousand when I read them, but I think

Considering the way Affleck directed movies have become progressively worse each time out, he might be good to direct a new Daredevil movie about three movies from now.

It is pretty good.  And Doctor Who is obviously the bomb.  But when it comes to long form futurist, space and aliens sci-fi, the pickings be slim.  I don't really think Defiance is going to become a great show, but so far I'm willing to wait and see.

As sisters with an extremely progressive attitude towards sex, no less. You could see Coot thinking 3-way when he first heard the news.

You know, maybe I fan wanking, but I sort of thought of it as the aliens wanted to find an Earth-like world, and so they would have tried to turn it into one if what they found was a dead world.  But since Earth was already Earth-like, and since the terraforming stuff was released haphazardly when the arks fell, that

I may drop the grade down a tad from this review, but I agree the show is worth giving a longer look.  Star Trek TNG was absolutely awful at first, but it had a great cast and there was a dearth of sci-fi on TV at the time.  Defiance definitely is first season TNG quality so far, if not better, and it's got a great
